This came after the company had announced it would stop sharing quarterly subscriber numbers and average revenue per membership starting in Q1 2025, choosing instead to focus on overall revenue and milestone achievements. 

The gain from 2023 to 2024 was substantial, with Netflix adding 41.32 million subscribers, representing a 15.9% year-over-year increase, the highest annual growth since 2020. Latest Update: Netflix Acquires Warner Bros. in an $82.7 billion Deal

Netflix has reached an agreement to acquire Warner Bros. in an $82.7 billion deal ($72 billion in equity value).

Netflix’s Ad-Supported Plan Now Has Over 250 Million Subscribers

Netflix’s ad-supported tier reached more than 250 million global monthly active viewers as of May 2026, up from 190 million in November 2025 and 94 million in May 2025. Over 80% of ad plan members watch actively every week. In the U.S., 45% of Netflix households now use the ad-supported plan.

At its 2026 upfront presentation, Netflix also announced it will expand the ad tier to 15 more countries, including Austria, Belgium, Colombia, Denmark, Indonesia, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, the Philippines, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, and Thailand.

Netflix launched its ad-supported plan for Canada and Mexico on November 1st, 2022. Later, on November 3rd, the plan went live for the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Korea, and Japan.

Besides, Netflix revealed that it is set to launch an in-house advertising technology platform in order to attract new clients who can advertise on Netflix and engage with its user base.

Netflix has extended its crackdown on password-sharing to over 100 countries, and here is how it is affecting its subscriber count!

  • After announcing its password crackdown news on May 23, 2023, Netflix experienced a significant increase in subscriber count in the United States. The streaming giant added 100k subscribers on both May 26th and 27th, 2023, and the average daily signups during that period rose to 73,000.
  • The average daily signups increased by 102% from the previous 60-day period. That is even better than the spike that occurred during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The United States remains Netflix’s biggest market by far, with roughly 87.75 million subscribers. That’s more than four times the count in any other country, showing just how important the U.S. still is for Netflix.

Netflix made $45.18 Billion In Revenue In 2025 

Netflix’s revenue increased by $6.18 billion, which is about 15.84% growth from 2024. 

The platform announced Earnings per share (EPS) were $5.13, which is below the forecasted number of around $6.94 to $6.96.

It also announced the net income of $10.98 billion, a $2.27 billion increase from 2024.

On the brighter side, revenue growth of around 16% YoY was influenced by:

In 2024, Netflix’s global ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) rose to $11.70, showing an improvement from $10.82 in 2023. 

This growth reflects better monetization efforts like cracking down on password sharing and expanding the ad-supported tier.

Interestingly, ARPU had dropped in 2023 compared to $11.76 in 2022, but the rebound in 2024 suggests Netflix successfully turned things around.
